It\u2019s a great fit for career changers as well as those following a passion for education. You don\u2019t need prior teaching experience, only a bachelor\u2019s degree in any field.<\/p><h5><b>How long does it take to complete the program?<\/b><\/h5><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The program can be completed in as little as 5 academic terms, allowing you to earn both your master\u2019s degree and initial teaching license at the same time.<\/span><\/p><h5><b>Can I work\/teach while completing the program?<\/b><\/h5><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Absolutely! Most MAT candidates teach on a provisional license while completing coursework, allowing you to earn an income and gain hands-on classroom experience.<\/span><\/p><h5><b>What subjects or grade levels can I teach after completing the MAT?<\/b><\/h5><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Your teaching license will depend on your area of focus. One of the strengths of our program is the personalized support we provide. Your advisor works directly with you to make sure you complete every step required for licensure.<\/p><h5><b>Does the program require a teaching component?<\/b><\/h5><p>Yes. All MAT candidates must complete a year-long internship as part of the program. Most meet this requirement by teaching on a provisional license while completing their degree. If you aren\u2019t hired or prefer another option, we can arrange a placement where you teach alongside a highly qualified mentor at a school near you.
