Emphasis in Pre-Art Therapy (BFA)<\/strong> \u201cArt Therapy is an integrative mental health and human services profession that enriches the lives of individuals, families, and communities through active art-making, creative process, applied psychological theory, and human experience within a psychotherapeutic relationship.\u201d (American Art Therapy Association, 2010)<\/p>\n This 120 credit hour undergraduate program is a collaboration between the Department of Art and Design and the Behavioral and Social Sciences Department. This program would serve as a preparatory program for those seeking admittance to a master\u2019s program in Art Therapy as determined by the American Art Therapy Association (AATA) or alternately, a masters in counseling or related fields with an emphasis in art therapy.<\/p>\n University Requirement – 2 hours<\/strong> General Education – 35 hours<\/strong> (ART 2013 Art Appreciation cannot fulfill the humanities requirement.)<\/p>\n Art \u2013 41 hours<\/strong> 8 hours of ART electives<\/p>\n Select 3 hours from the following: Select 3 hours from the following: Psychology \u2013 33 hours<\/strong> Select 3 hours from the following: Art Therapy \u2013 9 hours<\/strong> <\/p><\/div>\n <\/p>\n<\/div>\n
