Students will cook on the stove top, grill, and in the oven. Students will also have an opportunity to bring home a variety of recipes and experience the joy of cooking from scratch.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Babysitting Basics<\/td>\n<td width=\"575\">Have you ever thought about starting your own babysitting business?\u00a0 In this class, students will gain confidence in caring for younger children and be prepared to handle various situations they may encounter.\u00a0 They will learn about the development stages of children and create appropriate activities to have in their sitter bag for entertainment. We will cover first aide and how to handle emergencies and keep children safe. At the end of class, students will get to create an advertisement for their new babysitting venture and learn how to get hired!<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Basically Batik<\/td>\n<td width=\"575\">In this art class, students will learn about Batik, an art form that originated in Indonesia.\u00a0 They will create their own Batik artwork with a modified twist!<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Creative Art<\/td>\n<td width=\"575\">Join us and let your imagination dance across the canvas!\u00a0 In this class, students will use various items and techniques to have fun and create an unique painting each day!<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Dissection is Fun<\/td>\n<td width=\"575\">Are you interested in a career in the medical field?\u00a0 In this class, students will learn about organs, including their structure and function.\u00a0 This class will involve the dissection of eyeballs, hearts, brains, kidneys, and mice.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Engineering in Agriculture<\/td>\n<td width=\"575\">Did you know that engineering plays an important role in the agriculture industry?\u00a0 From the construction of barns and other facilities to operating computer software for a major agriculture company, engineering is infused into everyday activities. In this class we will look at the different roles that engineering has in agriculture and learn about the role it plays in everyday life.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Experiencing Ceramics<\/td>\n<td width=\"575\">Join us in Experiencing Ceramics as students learn what it takes to become a sculptor!\u00a0 Working in clay, whether through hand-building or throwing on the potter&#8217;s wheel, can lead to paths in fine art as well as commercial design. In this class, students will design and create their own piece of pottery and will be able to take it home with them.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Farm to Table<\/td>\n<td width=\"575\">Do you wonder how the food you eat gets from the farm to your plate?\u00a0 If the answer is yes, then join us on an exciting journey where students will learn to make ice cream from milk and butter from cream.\u00a0 They will learn where their steaks come from and how the cow converts grass to milk and brisket.\u00a0 Students must wear tennis shoes and be willing to possibly get dirty.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Future Teachers<\/td>\n<td width=\"575\">Think you have what it takes to be a teacher?\u00a0 Join us if you are up for the challenge!\u00a0 In this class, students will get a glimpse into lesson planning and classroom management.\u00a0 At the end of the course, students will be able to teach a lesson to their peers.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Graphic Design is So Radical<\/td>\n<td width=\"575\">In this course, students will be introduced to the increasingly popular art media of graphic design.\u00a0 Students will work throughout the week on a project that they can take home and share with their family and friends.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Great Escape<\/td>\n<td width=\"575\">Each day students will work to escape a challenge through tasks.\u00a0 They will work as a team with tasks within each challenge, using clues and materials provided.\u00a0 They will learn how to be great detectives, and think creatively to complete each task within the challenge.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>How It&#8217;s Made<\/td>\n<td width=\"575\">Are you interested in Engineering?\u00a0 Have you ever wondered how things are made?\u00a0 In this class, students will discuss how various objects are made and also construct their own creations using an assortment of engineering machinery.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Intro to Pickleball<\/td>\n<td width=\"575\">Intro to pickleball helps show how hobbies can improve overall health including mental health, social health, mood, and physical health.\u00a0 Pickleball is a blend of ping pong, badminton, and tennis.\u00a0 It is fun, easy to learn and can develop into a quick and competitive game.\u00a0 In this class, we will cover rules and game play.\u00a0 Come have fun and learn the sport of Pickleball!<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Lasers in Biology<\/td>\n<td width=\"575\">Did you know lasers are used for a wide variety of purposes, including examining the number and size of the droplets formed when you talk, sneeze or cough?\u00a0\u00a0 In this class we will use a high powered laser to show some basic principles of laser&#8217;s and how they are used in the world of biology. We will also utilize the laser to perform an experiment looking at respiratory droplets.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Newton&#8217;s Three Laws in Action<\/td>\n<td width=\"575\">Rockets, skateboards and cars&#8230;what do these things have in common?\u00a0 Their function is all related to Physics!\u00a0 In this class, students will learn to understand physics and Newton&#8217;s Three Laws through hands-on, fun activities.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Pickleball 2<\/td>\n<td width=\"575\">Pickleball 2 is for students who took Intro to Pickleball in 2021 or are familiar with this fast-growing sport!\u00a0 Students will review pickleball skills and rules and will build on their skills through drills and game play.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Plant and Soil Science<\/td>\n<td width=\"575\">This class will introduce students to plant anatomy and the components of soil.\u00a0 Class activities will include edible soil layers and dissection of live flowers.\u00a0 If you are interested in a career as a forester, botanist, ecologist, or environmental scientist, this class is for you!<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Scuba Diving<\/td>\n<td width=\"575\">This class introduces kids to scuba diving along with the safety aspects, science behind scuba and the care and handling of equipment. Student will get into pool on the last day.\u00a0 Appropriate forms will need to be completed prior to getting into the water.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Sound Effects and Soundtracks<\/td>\n<td width=\"575\">In this class, we will discus how Hollywood creates all of the sounds that you hear during major motion pictures and tv shows. We will also examine original music scores.\u00a0 Join us as we create our own sounds that can be used in movies by using various objects, including food.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Stitching Together<\/td>\n<td width=\"575\">Ever wanted to learn cross-stitch or up-cycle clothes by adding embroidery details? This class will teach you just that. You&#8217;ll learn methods on how to make the basic cross-stitch, add embroidery details to clothes, and tips and tricks along the way.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Stress Less<\/td>\n<td width=\"575\">Our world is full of &#8220;stresses&#8221;.\u00a0 We can&#8217;t guarantee a Stress-Free environment, but we can learn to Stress Less.\u00a0 In this class, students will learn fun ways to cope with stress, work through sadness, manage frustration, and more.\u00a0 Join us to learn how to create more confidence and hope so your &#8220;Salty Moods&#8221; don&#8217;t &#8220;Ooze Out&#8221; (in not so nice ways) onto the people around you!<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Teen Entrepreneur<\/td>\n<td width=\"575\">Within this class, students will be introduced to the concept of entrepreneurship. Students participating in this service project will decorate tote bags, make fleece tie-blankets, and assemble packages with hygiene products to help children in need.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Birdhouses for Wentworth Place<\/td>\n<td width=\"619\">Wentworth Place provides comfortable accommodations for elders in the Magnolia community. Those that work at Wentworth recognize the importance of performing their jobs with compassion by providing comfort and an enriched in-home setting that allows their residents to feel like family. Students participating in this service project will assist The University of Arkansas System of Agriculture in building birdhouses that will be delivered to the residents of Wentworth Place. These birdhouses will enhance the outdoor experience the residents have.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Cards for Hospitalized Kids<\/td>\n<td width=\"619\">Cards for Hospitalized Kids is an internationally recognized charitable organization that spreads hope, joy, and magic to hospitalized kids across America through uplifting, handmade cards. Over 100,000 kids in hospitals nationwide have received cards. Students participating in this service project will create handmade cards to mail to hospitalized kids. This is a great way to have fun and give back at the same time. The handmade card will be used to bring joy and happiness to kids in need.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Chew Toys for CCAPS<\/td>\n<td width=\"619\">CCAPS is a nonprofit organization that benefits abandoned or abused animals in Columbia County Arkansas. Their mission is to provide temporary humane care, food, water, shelter, and medical attention for stray, homeless, abandoned, and neglected animals. The shelter houses over 100 different dogs and cats and takes in over 1000 unwanted animals each year. Students participating in this service project will help make toys for the dogs and cats at the shelter. Each toy made will bring joy to all animals at CCAPS.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Coloring Books for Compassion&#8217;s Foundation<\/td>\n<td width=\"619\">Compassion\u2019s Foundation, Inc. serves Columbia County and the surrounding areas by providing emergency, safe shelter, and related services to victims of domestic violence and their children. This organization hosts numerous events throughout the year to raise awareness about domestic violence and victim services offered. Students participating in this service project will create handwritten cards welcoming the mothers and children to the shelter as well as create a coloring book for the shelter to pass out to the children there. These activities will make a positive impact on the lives of the mothers and children that enter the shelter seeking assistance.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Crocheting for a Cause<\/td>\n<td width=\"619\">Members of Crocheting for a Cause put their hooks and yarn to good use by coming together to make a difference in the lives of children, veterans, and cancer patients. Their goal is to bring joy and a smile to the faces of those they serve. Since 2012, they have donated over 1,000 lap blankets and caps to people in need. Students participating in this service project will learn the art of crocheting while making a positive impact on someone\u2019s life.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Door Decorations for Encompass Hospice<\/td>\n<td width=\"619\">Those that work for or with Encompass Hospice are committed to delivering the highest care to their patients. Patients receive the best care at all times while receiving the support and guidance they need. Students participating in this service project will create door decorations for the patients of Encompass Hospice. By doing so, students will be supporting, encouraging, and comforting patients as they go through tough times.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Flower Arrangements for DudneyWood<\/td>\n<td width=\"619\">DudneyWood is a retirement and assisted living community in Magnolia, Arkansas. Their mission is to provide a distinctive, dignified way of life that is not only safe, secure, and personalized but thoroughly enjoyable for their residents. Students participating in this service project will design floral arrangements. This will provide a positive emotional impact on the residents as well as serve as personal touches in their rooms. Flowers have an immediate impact on happiness and can have long-term positive effects on moods.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Paracord Bracelets for Operation Gratitude<\/td>\n<td width=\"619\">Operation Gratitude serves deployed troops, first responders, veterans, military families, and more by delivering thousands of care packages filled with items donated by Americans and service-friendly companies. Every care package includes a bundle of letters from the American people and a paracord bracelet. Students participating in this service project will write letters thanking our troops, veterans, wounded heroes, and first responders for their service to our country.
