{"id":5642,"date":"2026-07-07T15:18:53","date_gmt":"2026-07-07T20:18:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/web.saumag.edu\/human-resources\/?p=5642"},"modified":"2026-07-07T15:18:53","modified_gmt":"2026-07-07T20:18:53","slug":"student-accounts-counselor-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/web.saumag.edu\/human-resources\/2026\/07\/07\/student-accounts-counselor-3\/","title":{"rendered":"Student Accounts Counselor"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Duties: analyze student accounts; address student and parent questions and concerns with a high level of customer service; assist in the research and reconciliation of various accounts; input\/maintain accurate records; review, evaluate, and analyze financial data regarding student accounts; counsel students, parents, and staff regarding tuition and fees, account balances, scholarships, waivers, payments, payment plans, refunds, and related policies and procedures; provide solutions for tuition repayment when able; provide quality customer service; perform due diligence procedures on accounts and general office duties; use computer database to access, input, and retrieve student financial records; understand, apply and remove student financial holds; actively assist in the student registration process by consulting with the student population; work closely and collaboratively with other student accounts specialists and other key departments on campus; assist with the receipt and reconciliation of third-party scholarships; assist with processing student refund disbursements and all office functions and special events as assigned; ensure compliance with FERPA and other regulations applicable to student accounts, and other duties assigned.<\/p>\n<p>Qualifications: Bachelor&#8217;s degree desired, but a combination of experience\/education may be substituted; two (2) years related work experience, with higher education preferred; one year cashier experience in professional setting preferred; communicate well both verbally and in writing; work independently and collaboratively with special projects; must be able to multitask, utilize time management, and be well organized; work in a fast-paced environment; use a computer database and process basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office; possess initiative and professionalism; apply de-escalation techniques and handle potentially stressful situations; be detail-oriented and self-motivated.
