Southern Arkansas University is accepting applications for a 9 –month tenure track Assistant Professor of Physics position in the College of Science and Engineering. Our rapidly growing Engineering and Physics Department is housed in a dedicated, state of the art facility with new labs fully equipped with the latest equipment, complemented with a full fledge engineering machine shop. Duties: teaching freshmen to upper-level undergraduate physics courses; experience teaching astronomy is a plus; teaching courses if area of expertise; supervise undergraduate research projects; serve on committees; performing scholarly activities; engage in recruitment, retention and advising of students and students clubs and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Doctoral degree in physics required by time of employment; applicants with teaching experience preferred; have expertise in physics; demonstrate an ability to teach undergraduate students; excellent communication skills; strong desire to interact with students both in the classroom and in undergraduate research projects.
