Duties: Provide vision, leadership, and oversight to the Alumni Association to meet the needs of both the Association and the University; effectively and efficiently manage the Alumni staff by developing objectives/priorities and monitoring performance; manage all Alumni Association Board of Directors’ activities such as committee meetings, committee work, and quarterly board meetings; establish, build, and maintain meaningful relationships with current students, alumni, friends of the university, parents, donors, and officials through consistent and positive communication using electronic, print, and social media, exceptional customer service, and meaningful opportunities for volunteerism, service, and events and programs; maintain collaborative relations with other advancement departments; implement, plan, promote and execute on-campus, off-campus, and virtual alumni events; oversee the management of the Alumni Center; direct the selection and recognition of awards that honor alumni achievement; oversee all financial decisions of the Office of Alumni Relations setting, monitor budgets, and ensure a clear, independent financial audit; contribute to the overall success of the Division of Advancement by working on special projects and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: bachelor’s degree in a related academic program required, master’s degree preferred; at least three years’ experience in alumni relations/advancement-related field or three years’ experience in marketing, communications, or public relations required; two years of experience leading and managing a team or two years leading and completing cross-function projects preferred; demonstrated ability in motivating volunteers; public speaking experience; computer literacy, particularly in word processing and using databases; commitment to the university’s diversity, equity, and inclusion core values. This position frequently requires travel and attendance at evening and/or weekend activities, meetings, events, seminars and workshops.
