This a 2-year role with the Southern Arkansas University Men’s and Women’s golf teams starting August 10th, 2022. You will work as an assistant coach while earning your graduate degree. This position gives you the opportunity to develop skills in coaching, swing training, organization, strategic planning, scheduling, physical training, and leadership while gaining the hands-on experience of coaching and working with student athletes on the collegiate level. This is a great opportunity for individuals that love the game of golf, to earn a graduate degree and gain lucrative leadership experience that will help further their career. Graduate Assistant will receive a $4,000 stipend every semester during the two years. Checks will be given out monthly over the course of the semester equaling the total $4,000 stipend. Also, there are opportunities to work additional positions on campus that can grant benefits like free housing, meals plans, and experience working in different fields. There are also multiple graduate school scholarship opportunities.
Duties: hold the responsibilities of a full time coach including training, disciplining, and motivating players; will be responsible for taking women’s and men’s teams across the country and coaching teams in tournament events throughout the season and other duties as assigned.
Requirements: must have a bachelor’s degree; enrolled in graduate school full-time at Southern Arkansas University during the 2-years (full-time is minimum of 6 hours); maintain minimum GPA of 3.0 on all graduate course work; have experience and true interest in the game of golf; must be responsible, dependable, and goal oriented.
