Southern Arkansas University invites applications for a 9-month, tenure track education faculty position at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor of Educational Leadership in the College of Education and Human Performance beginning April 2022. The faculty member will serve in the university’s only doctoral program, a new Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Rural and Diverse Educational Leadership. The Ed.D offers focus areas in superintendency leadership, teacher leadership, and higher education/community leadership. This position allows full-time REMOTE work from a dedicated home office during flexible working hours (Central Time Zone). Daytime work is required to meet some professional obligations. Evening work is sometimes necessary to meet the needs of students. A professional work-from-home environment is required.
Duties: demonstrate experience developing and teaching online introductory and advance quantitative educational research methods courses; serve on and lead dissertation committees; conduct intensive advising that fosters success with diverse graduate students; demonstrate an optimistic, entrepreneurial outlook; become a key member in a program devoted to serving working professionals from mostly rural and diverse P-16 educational settings; develop and maintain scholarly activity; help recruit, advise, mentor, and retain students; join dedicated departmental, college, and university colleagues in advancing the strategic initiatives of the new program and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: must have an earned Ed.D. or Ph.D in Education, Educational Research, Educational Administration, Educational Leadership, or a closely related field; commitment to the profession as demonstrated by service to P-12 and/or higher educational institutions; a professional record of excellence, including scholarly publication.
