Southern Arkansas University invites applications for a Doctoral Student Success Coordinator in the College of Education and Human Performance beginning February 1, 2022. The Coordinator will serve in the university’s only doctoral program, a new Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Rural and Diverse Educational Leadership. The Ed.D offers focus areas in superintendency leadership, teacher leadership, and higher education/community leadership. This position allows full-time REMOTE work from a dedicated home office during traditional working hours (Central Time Zone). Occasional evening work may be required. A professional work-from-home environment is required.
Duties: demonstrate professional experiences that foster success with diverse students; service to graduate students preferred; demonstrate an optimistic, entrepreneurial outlook; become a key member in a program devoted to serving working professionals from mostly rural and diverse P-16 educational settings; develop and maintain scholarly activity; help recruit, serve, guide, and retain students; join dedicated departmental, college, and university colleagues in advancing the strategic initiatives of the new program and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: must have an earned bachelor’s degree in Education, or a closely related field required; earned master’s degree in Education, Higher Education, Student Affairs, or closely related field preferred; three or more years of work experience in P-12 or higher education preferred; knowledge of graduate student academic development processes required; commitment to the field of education as demonstrated by service to P-12 and/or higher educational institutions; a professional maturity and a high degree of self-direction; exceptional communications, organizational , computer/database, and problem analysis skills; willingness and eagerness to learn All SAU faculty and staff demonstrate a commitment to inclusion and diversity of the University community and excellence in interpersonal behaviors and effective collaboration with colleagues.
