Southern Arkansas University’s College of Science and Engineering is accepting applications for an Agriculture Technician to support the rapidly growing Agriculture Department which is located in a modern and well-equipped 33,000 square foot Agriculture Science building and supported by modern poultry education facility and the horticulture complex.
Duties: Work in coordination with the faculty members to facilitate laboratories and other activities; support the daily operations of the Poultry Science Facility, the greenhouses and community garden; included but not limited to: monitor bird health, feed, water consumption, and environmental controls of the facility, monitor irrigation, fertilization, and temperature control in greenhouses; monitor pests and diseases in the greenhouse and oversee harvest; will have access to student workers; expected to keep the poultry and horticulture complexes in optimum shape and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture required; Master’s degree preferred; interact professionally with staff and public; professional appearance required.
