Duties: Responsible for prepping and painting in University Housing’s residence halls and apartments; focus painting duties on interior spaces; evaluate and paint rooms after tenants move out during the year and/or at the end of each semester; maintain public areas in residence halls and apartment complexes throughout the year; supervise and evaluate student/extra help paint crew during extended breaks and summer sessions; create and maintain a continuous paint plan for facility improvement; train students and other staff; create estimates of material and labor; monitor the acquisition and use of materials; maintain and submit time and payroll reports as needed; perform inspections of work; use technology to write correspondence and keep records; assist the Director of Student Affairs Facilities with other housing projects and other duties as assigned. Some nights and weekends may be required.
Qualifications: one or more years of residential or commercial painting experience required; bachelor’s degree and experience working in a college or university setting preferred; excellent communication, organization, and team-building skills are required; must enjoy working with undergraduate and graduate level domestic and international students; must be proficient in Google Suite, email Microsoft Office and other related programs.
