Duties: Supervise day-to-day operations of the tutoring program; recruit, interview, hire, supervise, and evaluate peer and professional tutors; investigate feasibility of enhancing tutoring program by addition of professional tutors; develop services online, if necessary; oversee online tutoring program (NetTutor); develop learning outcomes and assessment measures for tutoring program and tutor training; conduct student satisfaction surveys regarding tutoring services and support the academic success of students requesting tutoring; develop a reporting process to monitor and assess individual tutoring sessions; creator a master Tutor Handbook to include, but not limited to, policies, procedures, procedures, and training materials; coordinate and deliver tutor training; develop budget recommendations and track tutorial budgets and tutor payroll; provide weekly, end-of-semester, and end-of-year statistical information to the Director of Student Support Services; maintain all related records; develop and coordinate activities to promote and publicize services; set up tutoring for summer school, if necessary; assist with Student Support Services activities and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Master’s degree in academic discipline, or closely related field; three to five years of experience working with high school, college, or university level; experience in coordinating, developing, planning, and monitoring all aspects of a tutorial program; recruit, train, and evaluate tutors; review, evaluate, and assist in the selection of materials used in tutoring and supplemental learning; familiarity with technology in an educational environment; demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and faculty from diverse backgrounds; ability to adjust tutoring to an online format, if necessary.
