The Department of Agriculture in the College of Science & Engineering at Southern Arkansas University invites applications for a 9-month, tenure-track, Assistant Professor of Agricultural Economics-Agribusiness position. The rapidly growing Department of Agriculture is located in a modern and well-equipped 33,000 square foot Agriculture Science building. This position begins August 2020.
Duties: teach undergraduate courses in agribusiness entrepreneurship, agribusiness finance, and agribusiness marketing; prepare students for National Agri-Marketing Association (NAMA) competition; develop an active, innovative, externally funded, and nationally recognized research program focused on agribusiness entrepreneurship, agribusiness finance, agribusiness marketing, and some similar areas that serve the Department priorities; contribute to the department’s related programs through mentoring and advising; contribute to department, college, and university service activities and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: earned doctorate in agribusiness or agricultural economics with strong emphasis in agribusiness entrepreneurship or a closely related field at the time employment begins; have demonstrated excellence in research and have a dedicated interest in high quality teaching at the undergraduate level.
