Duties: Serve as part of the international office team; plan and host retention activities throughout the school year; serve as ISA advisor; help coordinate events with the group; plan and implement orientation week activities for new incoming students; facilitate retreats; serve as resource on immigration regulations, policies, and practices for our F1 students, faculty, and staff; serve as a Designated School Official (DSO); maintaining effective working relationships with international students utilizing successful interviewing and counseling techniques, with particular regard to immigration-related matters; process SEVIS and Terra Dotta related student requests/maintenance and SEVIS registration; develop and maintain in-depth and current knowledge of United States Department of Homeland Security and Department of State; may require working evenings, weekends, and regular student break periods and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred; proficiency with Word, PowerPoint, and Excel; strong cross-cultural communication skills and experience working in a diverse environment; willing to work in a multicultural office environment and with a culturally diverse student population; ability to reason logically and use initiative in planning work assignments and in implementing long-range program improvements; ability to plan, develop, coordinate, supervise, and organize programs and activities; strong problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills; excellent customer service skills; comfortable speaking to large groups.
