Southern Arkansas University’s Department of Art and Design is accepting applications for a non-tenure track position as an Instructor of Art for Communication Design, effective August 2019.
The Department of Art and Design offers BFA degrees with emphasis in Communication Design, Game, Animation, and Simulation Design, Studio Art, and Interactive Media and Marketing.
Duties: Teach five (5) courses per semester (5/5) in graphic design, foundation courses, and one art appreciation class for general education; ability to offer online and/or hybrid classes; teach and maintain the computer lab and be available to assist and advise students online and during scheduled office hours and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: MFA in Graphic Design, New Media Design, Visual Communication Design from a nationally accredited institution by July 1, 2019; demonstrate expertise in print and web design, interactive media, user interface, technology, and software applications (e.g., Mac OS, Adobe Creative Cloud); Two (2) years college level teaching experience in a Mac-based lab environment; excellent communications skills; expertise in typography and package design.
