Southern Arkansas University is accepting applications for a full-time faculty position as an Instructor of Health, Kinesiology and Recreation, effective August 1, 2018.
SAU, the fastest growing university in the state, is a public regional institution with a total enrollment of approximately 4,600 undergraduate and graduate students and over 400 faculty and staff. Our campus is located in Magnolia, a city of 11,000 in rural southwest Arkansas, approximately 50 miles east of Texarkana and 140 miles southwest of Little Rock. Duties: teach 15 hours of undergraduate courses per semester; courses may include Human Anatomy and Physiology, Kinesiology, and Biomechanics, Exercise Physiology, Strength and Conditioning or other related courses; assist in practicum supervision; student advisement/mentoring; serve on committees; scholarship; service to the university and community and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: earned Master’s in Exercise Science, Sports Medicine, Athletic Training, Human Performance, Physical Education or a related field; demonstrate excellence as a classroom teacher/learner; teaching in a learner-centered environment; experience teaching with technology and online; work with a team centered approach; be active professionally; experience with a professional body such as ACSM, NSCA, CAATE and/or coaching education.
