The International Student Office is seeking a director to provide leadership and recruitment strategies for international student services including admissions, recruiting, study abroad, and retention activities. The university is seeking a leader committed to creating a positive, innovative, and effective level of service to the students, entire campus, and community. The director will manage a full range of activities that support international students and scholars.
Duties: Develop and implement strategic, recruitment and marketing plans for the department; participate in recruitment; provide leadership for effective international student programming and development; oversee the management of the SEVP homeland security monitoring system and compliance; develop and conduct study abroad program for the university; use and evaluate technology for assessment and streamlining systems; collaborate with departments across campus; supervise and provide assistance and staff development for office professionals and staff; promote on and off campus the programming and benefits of working with a diverse student population and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Master’s required; experience with over-seas recruitment and SEVP regulations required; knowledge of United States visa laws including Practical Training policies (CPT/OPT) preferred; proficiency with Word, PowerPoint, and Excel; strong cross-cultural communication skills and experience working in a diverse environment; willing to work in a multicultural office environment and with a culturally diverse student population; strong problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills; excellent customer service skills; comfortable speaking to large groups; strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team; ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing demands and priorities.
