Southern Arkansas University (SAU) is seeking applicants for a Production Manager/Resident Designer. The department is NASM accredited and offers a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with concentrations in Theatre and Musical Theatre. Housing is included with this position. The review of applications has begun and will continue until the position is filled. The expected starting date is January 2018. The position may become permanent after a one-year review.
Duties: Manage the production budget for SAU Theatre’s 2017-2018 season (two musicals and two plays); ability to teach fundamental design classes and/or Theatre Appreciation preferred; coordinate event scheduling for Harton Theatre on campus; oversee design and execution of all technical elements for departmental productions; supervise student technical workers in shop and production technical rehearsals; lead box office/front-of-house duties for performance and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications; Bachelor’s in Theatre Management, Design, or closely related field; professional or previous university experience preferred.
