elementor-size-default\">Reasonable Housing Accommodations<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-62b93d47 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"62b93d47\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">University Housing is committed to providing campus living that is accessible and inclusive and provides reasonable housing accommodations to residents with disabilities.\u00a0 It is a resident\u2019s responsibility to make their disability known to the University.\u00a0 Housing accommodations are given consideration upon request and on a case-by-case basis; reasonable accommodations are determined based on documented need.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0Submission of a request does not guarantee an accommodation.\u00a0 Requests are reviewed by Disability Support Services and University Housing, in consultation with other campus professionals, as needed.\u00a0 Accommodation decisions will consider the resident\u2019s disability-related need(s) in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, the Fair Housing Act, and other relevant federal, state, local, and campus regulations.\u00a0 Accommodations cannot be granted for individuals who did not meet all housing deadlines or are otherwise ineligible to live in University housing.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0SAU will accept and consider requests for reasonable accommodations in University housing at any time. The individual making the request for accommodation should complete and provide DSS Intake Form and the Reasonable Accommodation Verification Form for University Housing to Disability Services as soon as practicably possible before moving into University housing. <\/span><b>However, if the request for accommodation is made fewer than 60 days before the individual intends to move into University housing, SAU cannot guarantee that it will be able to meet the individual\u2019s accommodation needs during the first semester or term of occupancy.<\/b><br \/><br \/><b>Procedure for Requesting Reasonable Housing Accommodations:<\/b><\/p><ol style=\"margin-left: 30px;\"><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Residents must have applied for University Housing and followed all necessary procedures before requesting accommodations.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In order to request housing accommodations, the resident must complete the Disability Support Services Intake Form to initiate the process and follow the guidelines outlined in the General Housing Accommodations Policy.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Requests may take an extended period of time for processing and response during certain seasons.\u00a0 Residents will be contacted directly via email in regards to their request and may be expected to participate in an interactive process with staff.\u00a0 Depending on the accommodation requested, additional information may be required.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If a resident submits a request without providing sufficient information, Disability Support Services will inform the resident of the necessity for more information.\u00a0 The resident is expected to cooperate with University Housing and Disability Support Services in a timely manner to provide all necessary information.\u00a0 University Housing and Disability Support Services will only request information to verify the presence of a disability and to assess the need and scope of a reasonable accommodation.<\/span><\/li><\/ol><p><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/p><p><b>Please Note:<\/b><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Requests for specific housing locations will be taken into consideration;
