Greek Life at Southern Arkansas University helps our organizations focus on service and philanthropic efforts each year. Our chapter members complete over 1,500 hours of community service each semester and each one\u00a0has specific national and local philanthropic organizations they support. For the fall 2017 semester, Greek Life took on a new philanthropic venture with Pack Shack – Humanity vs. Hunger. Pack Shack is an organization that’s mission is to “supply provisions and opportunities for our neighbors in need.” For the month of October, Greek Life was able to raise over $5,000.00 in funds to host a “Feed the Funnel” Party, where our students in Greek organizations along with the support of other student organizations, packed over 20,000 meals for our neighbors in need.\u00a0These meals were shipped out all\u00a0over our state and to areas, like south Texas,\u00a0where food insecurity is happening for our neighbors\u00a0who may have been faced with hardships.<\/p>\n
