Priority is given to students who are not employed full-time (40 hours per week). Graduate Assistantship contracts are single term only. Complete the Graduate Assistantship application online at: <a href=\"https:\/\/web.saumag.edu\/graduate\/forms\/ga\/\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Graduate Assistantship Application<\/strong><\/span><\/a>.<\/p><p><strong>Note:<\/strong> Even if you have already spoken with a professor or supervisor and they have agreed to work with you, you are still required to apply.<\/p><ul><li>Include details of your experience and at least three references.<\/li><li>Indicate your preferred placement area.<\/li><li>Applications must be submitted\/ received by Graduate Studies to be eligible for a position.<\/li><li>The School of Graduate Studies will verify eligibility and provide qualified applications to departments for consideration.<\/li><\/ul><h4>Work Expectations<\/h4><ul><li>Work up to 20 hours per week (including holidays)<\/li><li>Fall\/Spring: 15 weeks (300 hours total per semester)<\/li><li>Summer: 5 weeks per session (100 hours total)<\/li><\/ul><h4>Additional Requirements<\/h4><ul><li>Meet specific qualifications set by the hiring department<\/li><li>Maintain academic standards:<ul><li>Minimum 3.00 GPA<\/li><li>No grade of C or lower in graduate coursework<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-768b9fb elementor-widget-divider--view-line elementor-widget elementor-widget-divider\" data-id=\"768b9fb\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"divider.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-divider\">\n\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-divider-separator\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-5fc9a33 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"5fc9a33\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">Students<\/h3><h4><strong>GA Hiring Process<\/strong><\/h4><ol><li>Submit an application: <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/web.saumag.edu\/graduate\/forms\/ga\/\"><strong>Graduate Assistantship Application<\/strong><\/a><\/span><\/li><li>If approved\/selected for a GA position, the student will receive an email with confirmation and additional documents from the Graduate Studies office that are required before starting work.<\/li><li>Students can only begin working once all required documents have been received.<\/li><\/ol><h4>Timesheets and Pay<\/h4><ol><li>Timesheets will <strong>only be issued after your contract for the current term has been received.<\/strong><\/li><li>Payment cannot be received until Financial Aid has all required documents.<\/li><li>Graduate Studies will send the GA a timesheet before the end of each pay period, which needs to be signed by the student and supervisor.<\/li><li>Timesheets must be turned into the metal box outside Nelson 225<\/li><li>Timesheets must be turned in by the designated time and place for the GA to receive their payment on time.<\/li><\/ol><h4>International Students<\/h4><p>International students must have a valid Social Security Number to be employed and receive payment.<\/p><ul><li>International students may apply for a GA role before obtaining a Social Security Number.<\/li><li>International students must have a Social Security Number before beginning work and receiving payment.
