Graduate Students Procedures for Applying for a Student Loan<\/h3>\n

  1. File the current Free Application for Federal Student Aid (fafsa).\u00a0 www.fafsa.ed.gov<\/a><\/li>\n
  2. Complete a loan application. You can either mail it in or file it online by going to www.saumag.edu<\/a> and clicking on financial aid.<\/li>\n
  3. If this is the first time that you are getting a loan at Southern Arkansas University, you will need to complete an on-line entrance interview. Follow the steps listed below. Once we receive notification that you have completed your entrance counseling, we will finish processing your loan.<\/em>\n

    1. Visit http:\/\/www.saumag.edu\/finaid\/<\/a><\/li>\n
    2. Select \u201cEntrance Interview\u201d<\/li>\n
    3. Click on \u201cStudent Loan Counseling Interview\u201d<\/li>\n
    4. Click on \u201cStafford Entrance\u201d<\/li>\n
    5. After reading the instructions, begin the test by completing Step 1 at the bottom of the page<\/li>\n
    6. Read the information provided on the left side of the screen and answer all the questions on the right side of the screen. Click on \u201cSubmit Answers\u201d<\/li>\n
    7. After finishing the test, you will receive an online form to complete. Please provide all the requested information, review it, and click \u201csubmit: The information will be sent to your school financial aid office. Print the confirmation page or note your confirmation number for your records<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
    8. If this is the first time that you are receiving a loan from the lender you have chosen, you must complete a master promissory note. This can be done online AFTER you have received your loan notification from the Office of Financial Aid.
      \n You may access the application at:       www.saumag.edu\/finaid\/<\/a>, select Online MPN. Once you have completed your portion of the application we will be able to continue processing your loan request.<\/em><\/li>\n
    9. For summer loans, the Office of Financial Aid will need a copy of your schedule as well as a short summer form completed. These forms are available in the Office of Financial Aid around the middle of March.<\/li>\n
