Master&#8217;s Enrichment Scholarship<\/strong> was established to support Alaska residents pursuing graduate education through Southern Arkansas University&#8217;s School of Graduate Studies. Building upon SAU&#8217;s educational partnerships and collaborative initiatives in Alaska, the scholarship reflects the University&#8217;s commitment to providing additional graduate education opportunities for students seeking advanced knowledge, professional growth, career advancement, and lifelong learning through master&#8217;s-level study.<\/p><p><strong>Scholarship Benefit<\/strong><\/p><p>Recipients of the SAU- A.L.A.S.K.A Master\u2019s Enrichment Scholarship will receive $90 per credit hour for each master&#8217;s-level course in which they enroll.<\/p><p><strong>Eligibility Requirements<\/strong><br \/>Applicants must:<\/p><ul><li>Be a resident of Alaska.<\/li><li>Meet admissions requirements for Southern Arkansas University&#8217;s School of Graduate Studies.<\/li><li>Be enrolled part-time or full-time in master&#8217;s-level coursework at SAU<\/li><li>Maintain a minimum graduate GPA of 3.0.<\/li><li>Remain in good academic standing with the University.<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>Conditions<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>The scholarship applies only to master\u2019s level coursework taken through Southern Arkansas University.<\/li><li>Students are eligible to reapply each semester provided all eligibility requirements, including GPA requirements, continue to be met.<\/li><\/ul><p>Submit the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dropbox.com\/scl\/fi\/bg8dg3ru8vambs8c8v6kt\/SAU-ALASKA-Masters-Enrichment-Scholarship-Application.pdf?rlkey=fqffm052nvg9emazoxlg1oi63&amp;st=2g0k4mnh&amp;dl=0\">SAU-ALASKA Application<\/a> to SAU\u2019s School of Graduate Studies.<\/p><hr \/><h4>8 Scholarships for Graduate Students<\/h4><ul><li><a href=\"https:\/\/lendedu.com\/blog\/scholarships-for-graduate-students\/\">LendEDU.com<\/a><\/li><\/ul><hr \/><h4>Ann Keese Thomas Graduate Scholarship<\/h4><p>One or more AKT graduate scholarships may be awarded on a competitive basis to students who are not receiving graduate assistantship funding or any other scholarship support and who meet the following criteria:<\/p><ol><li>Completed application.<\/li><li>Unconditional admission to graduate studies.<\/li><li>Completed at least 12 hours of graduate coursework.<\/li><li>Grade point average of 3.50 or higher in all graduate work, with no <em>C<\/em> grade included in work.<\/li><li>Two letters of recommendation from faculty in higher education.<\/li><\/ol><p><strong>Deadline: May 31st<\/strong><\/p><p><strong>Conditions which apply:<\/strong><\/p><ol><li>Must maintain a 3.50 grade point average with no grade lower than a <em>B<\/em>.<\/li><li>Must be continuously enrolled for the 12-month period.<\/li><li>May reapply for one additional year.<\/li><\/ol><p><strong>Selection Criteria:<\/strong><\/p><p>Preference will be given to students pursuing a graduate degree in the counseling field. This scholarship supports graduate students with military affiliation when other military-related benefits have been exhausted, are unavailable, or do not meet eligibility requirements.<\/p><p>Recipients of this scholarship continue Dr. Burns&#8217; legacy by advancing their education, leadership, and professional contributions in service to their communities.<\/p><p>Learn more about Dr. Burns and his dedicated service to country, career, and community: <a href=\"https:\/\/web.saumag.edu\/graduate\/files\/2026\/06\/Dr.-Bob-Burns-Service-Legacy.pdf\">Dr. Burns\u2019 Legacy<\/a><\/p><p>Scholarship funds may be awarded to one or more recipients on a competitive basis to graduate students with military affiliation who meet the following criteria:<\/p><p><strong>Eligibility Requirements<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>Completed scholarship application.<\/li><li>Unconditional admission to graduate studies at Southern Arkansas University.<\/li><li>Enrolled as a full-time graduate student.<\/li><li>Verification of military affiliation as one of the following:<ul><li>Veteran<\/li><li>Active-duty service member<\/li><li>Former military personnel, including Guard or Reserve service<\/li><li>Eligible spouse of a disabled or deceased veteran<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Official documentation verifying military service or spouse eligibility.<\/li><li>Demonstrated ineligibility for military education benefits under Chapters 30, 31, 33, or 35, or inability to qualify for other military-related educational assistance programs.<\/li><li>Minimum cumulative graduate GPA of 3.00.<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>Selection Considerations<\/strong><\/p><p>Priority consideration will be given to applicants pursuing graduate degrees in Educational Leadership or Business-related fields. Enrollment options include credit registration (grade and transcript record), audit (no grade but a transcript record), or non-credit (no grade, no transcript record). Subsequently, the University will waive the mandatory fees associated with the class.<\/p><h4>Arkansas Taxpayer Waiver<\/h4><p><a href=\"https:\/\/web.saumag.edu\/graduate\/files\/2012\/05\/Arkansas-Taxpayers.pdf\">Print Form [pdf]<\/a><\/p><p>Bona fide Arkansas income taxpayers and their dependents who reside in one of the eligible counties or parishes of an approved state may enroll at any qualifying Arkansas public institution of higher education and receive the out-of-state tuition waiver.<\/p><p>In order to get the non-resident fee waived, the following criteria must be met:<\/p><ol><li>Dependent student or parent must provide a W-2 or verification of Arkansas earnings of $5,500 or more for the prior tax year.<\/li><li>Student and parent must live in one of the following counties or parishes:<ul><li>Louisiana: Claiborne, Union, or Webster<\/li><li>Mississippi: Coahoma or Tunica<\/li><li>Missouri: Barry, Dunklin, McDonald, Oregon, Ozark, Pemiscot, Ripley, or Taney<\/li><li>Oklahoma: Delaware, LeFlore, McCurtain, or Sequoyah<\/li><li>Tennessee: Dyer, Shelby, or Tipton<\/li><li>Texas: Bowie<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ol><p>The Waiver of Non-resident Fees form is available in the SAU Business Office and must be submitted each semester.
