Staff Senate Minutes
\nNovember 12, 2003<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The Staff Senate met on November 12, 2003. <\/span>Those members in attendance were <\/span>Vera Camp, Kathy Cole, Charles Honza, Keli Honza, Robert Jones, Essie Moore, Kellye Ogle, Beth Scroggins, Cledis Stuart, Houston Taylor, Sarajane Telford, Mark Trout, Peggy Walters, and David Wingfield. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

President Keli Honza called the meeting to order. <\/span>Minutes were approved as written with a recommendation for acceptance from Charles Honza, and a second by Peggy Walters.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

The “Staff Survey” was then edited. <\/span>Changes were made to several paragraphs, questions were deleted, etc. <\/span>After much discussion the changes were approved and the survey was sent out one more time for approval from the staff. <\/span>The Survey itself has been sent out and we are anxiously awaiting the responses.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

Wilma Williams, Kathy Cole, Charles Honza and Keli Honza will serve on the committee to make changes to the CLIP Program. <\/span>They will meet in the near future to make changes, recommendations, and will then give these recommendations to Mr. Giles.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

Dan Dykema, President of the Faculty Senate, said that Staff could have representation on all university committees. <\/span>He will provide President Honza with a list of all the committees so that we can make future plans can be made for staff representation.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

Charles Honza had a question concerning leave time and mandatory leave time. <\/span>We have to take mandatory leave time on January 2. <\/span>Since next year is a leap year… so, couldn’t we count that day for this year and not have to take the 2nd as mandatory leave? <\/span>Peggy Walters moved that the question <\/span>be sent to Dr. Rankin who will make a decision concerning this matter. <\/span>Keli will attend the next President’s Council.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

Our next meeting will be on December 9th.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

No further business…. Cledis Stuart made a motion to adjourn…. Houston Taylor seconded. <\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

With that, President Honza adjourned the meeting.<\/span><\/p>\n
