Archeology at the Isgrig Site on the Arkansas River

March 8, 2016 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

The Isgrig site, located on Fourche Island southeast of Little Rock, has a long history of occupation, including prehistoric, protohistoric, and historic sites. This talk will focus on the late prehistoric and early Protohistoric occupation dating between the 1400s and 1500s AD. The artifacts found at Isgrig may indicate links between numerous sites up and down the Arkansas River. This talk will provide a preliminary look at the Isgrig excavations and artifact analysis, as well as the possible similarities between other sites in the region.
