She earned her B.A. in Biology with an Environmental Science concentration from Grinnell College (2002), and her M.S. in Biology (2012) from The College of William and Mary. Her research focused on the effects of hurricane damage on forest composition and structure.\u00a0 She has also worked as a lab technician in a sunflower ecology lab at the University of Nebraska, as well as in an ornithology lab at The College of William and Mary before she began teaching at SAU in 2012.\u00a0 Her interests focus primarily on botany, ornithology, and disturbance ecology.
