Trent Wells is an Assistant Professor of Agricultural Education at Southern Arkansas University. Originally from Jasper, Alabama, Dr. Wells earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Agricultural Education degree at Iowa State University (2019), a Master of Science in Agricultural Education degree from Iowa State University (2014), and a Bachelor of Science in Agriscience Education degree from Auburn University (2012). Prior to joining the faculty at SAU in August 2019, he led the Agriscience Education program at Fayette County High School in Fayette, Alabama for three years (2013-2016) and served as a graduate teaching assistant at Iowa State University for three years (2016-2019). His teaching foci revolve around agricultural teacher education and agricultural mechanics. His research is geared toward addressing the challenges facing agricultural workforce development in the 21st century. His service and outreach efforts are designed to facilitate professional development and growth opportunities for agricultural industry stakeholders, such as agricultural education teachers and their students.
