James Stewart has been an engineer in the games industry since 2007, developing titles at LucasArts, 2K Games, and currently Asteri Networks. His previous research includes pathfinding solutions for very large terrains (published in AI Game Programming 4, ISBN 978-1584505235), and an unpublished master’s thesis about the use of genetic search for content generation and automated defect testing for game software development. His current areas of research include the use of gaming technology in the classroom to teach basic computer science concepts, simplified programming language development for teaching computer science, and the gamification of topics such as compiler design and symbolic logic.
