Bret McMahen

McMahen began his Law Enforcement career with the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, as a Patrol Deputy. He later was assigned to the Criminal Investigations Division as a narcotics officer, where he was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant. McMahen was assigned to the FBI as a Task Force Officer during this time. Leaving CCSO, McMahen began working for Magnolia Police Department, as a Detective. In 2015 McMahen came to work for SAU as a Patrolman, before being assigned as Detective for the Department. McMahen’s training includes Basic LE training with ALETA, Narcotics Training with Regional Counterdrug Training Academy at NAS, Meridian MS., Crime Scene Investigator and Narcotics Officer programs with the Criminal Justice Institute – U of A. McMahen is married, he and his wife, Cathy have two children.
