Jennifer Kelton-Huff is an Assistant Professor of Public Health and academic advisor for the Public Health degree program at SAU. She has worked in higher education for over 19 years. She earned her B.S. in Community and Public Health (1997), her M.A. in Sociology (2006), and her Ph.D. in Health and Human Performance (2018), all from Middle Tennessee State University. Her passion for the public health field began in the mid-’90s when she worked in a busy emergency room in Nashville, TN. Dr. Kelton-Huff has an interest in working with future health professionals that want to work in underserved communities to resolve health disparities and improve community health. Students in her classes will get career exposure, community involvement, and research/presentation opportunities. She teaches Nutrition and Diet, Medical Terminology, Foundations of Public Health, Social and Behavioral Health, Biological Concepts of Public Health, and Public Health Internships.
