The importance of Time Management<\/p>

High school may not prepare you for the stress and busyness that comes along with a college schedule. Adjusting to new surroundings, attending classes, balancing a social life, studying for exams, completing homework, and having a part-time job are all a part of what a college student faces. It\u2019s no wonder college students experience burnout! Sometimes you may wish there were more hours in a day. Since we know that isn\u2019t going to happen, the solution is to learn how to manage your time and get the most out of your college experience. Here are a few effective time management tips.<\/p>

Stay Organized<\/strong><\/p>

Keeping your schoolwork organized can be a huge factor in saving time. Keep separate binders or folders for each class. Use a planner or time management app to help you keep track of due dates and exams. Also, keep your work area clear so that you can locate everything.<\/p>

Create a routine!<\/strong><\/p>

Creating and keeping a routine can help reduce uncertainty. Developing a routine at the beginning of the semester can help you adjust to it early.<\/p>

Keep yourself healthy.<\/strong><\/p>

This may not seem important to time management, but your health can play a huge role in how you manage your time. Practicing regular exercise can help keep your energy levels up and can help keep your mind more engaged.\u00a0 Getting enough sleep at night can help increase your alertness and decrease stress levels.<\/p>

Be Realistic and\u00a0<\/strong>flexible.<\/b><\/p>

Sometimes circumstances will arise, and you simply cannot get to everything you set out do in each day. Always be patient with yourself when things don\u2019t go as planned. Be realistic with your calendar and priorities.<\/p>

Time management is an important skill that is needed in college. Take the advice of students who have been there.
