This is an interview with Christa Taylor, Assistant Professor of Biology, at Southern Arkansas University.<\/p>

What subject areas do you teach here at SAU?<\/strong><\/p>

I teach multiple subjects, including Anatomy and Physiology, Medical Terminology, Career and Life Planning, Freshman Seminar, and Introduction to Biology.<\/p>

How long have you been teaching?<\/strong><\/p>

I have been teaching at Southern Arkansas University for 19 years.<\/p>

What is the most important lesson you hope your students take away from your class?<\/strong><\/p>

The most important lesson I hope my students take away is to work hard and avoid procrastination. I also hope they remember our lessons in ecology and the importance of caring for the environment, doing their part to help protect our planet.<\/p>

What skills do you believe are the most valuable in life after college?<\/strong><\/p>

After college, the most important skills are having a strong work ethic and being a good person.<\/p>

If you could give one piece of advice to your students before they graduate, what would it be?<\/strong><\/p>

My advice is to do what makes you happy and don\u2019t just focus on your work.\u00a0 Enjoy life!<\/p>

What is one thing you did, outside of your education, that prepared you for your career?<\/strong><\/p>

Volunteering and working within the community really prepared me for the classroom. It helped me understand that people are different and have unique needs, especially in a learning environment.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Christa Taylor is an Assistant Professor of Biology at Southern Arkansas University. She holds a B.S. in Biology and a Master\u2019s degree in Secondary Education. Currently, she is pursuing her Ed.D. at SAU.
