Summer 2021 is a season of opportunities, and we are so grateful for your interest in our students’ growth!
We are looking for career-driven, self-starter individuals who don’t mind volunteering some of their free time to connect with SAU students. The rapid transition to online has created quite a few limitations for students all over the country. As educators, and figures of guidance, we not only understand the frustrations that come with these changes, but we recognize the lack of interconnection between students and the world around them. A big part of student life is having the chance to create meaningful relationships and using your resources to your advantage. Career Services would like to carry on this tradition by highlighting the skill of networking and bringing forth two new programs that will give students the sense of purpose, fellowship, and personal development that could have been lost through closed windows of opportunity and virtual enveloping.
There are 3 ways that you can support Career AIM this summer:

Similar to Career Coaches, Mentors are also SAU Alumni who work with certain students, individually, over the course of the semester. You may also apply to be a Career Coach.

3. SUBMIT A MICRO-INTERNSHIP PROJECT:
This is for our Alumni and Friends of the University! Typically micro-internships are paid projects to give the students direct reflection of their work done. Paid projects are preferred, but not required.
To kick off the program, we would like to collect 25 diverse projects that will fall under one of these 4 career areas:
- Business ……………………………………… (5 projects)
- Education ……………………………………. (5 projects)
- Liberal & Performing Arts …………….. (5 projects)
- Science & Engineering ………………….. (5 projects)
The other 5 projects will spread out amongst these four areas. These numbers are estimated and can fluctuate depending on the amount of projects we receive and if there is an influx of projects for a particular area.

COVID-19
Because we understand that some fields require physical interaction to gain necessary skills, we will accept in-person projects. Please make sure that the environment provided is aligned with the proper COVID-19 health & safety procedures. But to increase the safety of our students, we are asking that you think about virtual/remote projects, transforming your physical project into a virtual/remote project, or making parts of your project virtual where you can. Thank you for your consideration!
