Please tell us a brief bio of your career \u2013 how long have you taught at Rankin College of Business, what courses do you typically teach, what are your research interests, what is your educational background, etc. \u00a0<\/h4>

I have taught at the Rankin College of Business since August 2020 after earning a PhD from Texas Tech last summer. I typically teach in the area of finance, particularly teaching courses related to financial analysis. My research interests are in the area of corporate finance, with my primary focus being on the impact of weak corporate governance on firms.<\/p>

How does the Rankin College of Business prepare students for their professional careers?<\/h4>

The classes here are meant to help students gain greater understanding in their field of interest. One thing I\u2019ve noticed is that there are a large amount of degree plans for students to choose from. This gives students greater flexibility in deciding which courses to take so they can prepare for their future careers. There are also internships available so students can gain real-world experience.<\/p>

What sets the Rankin College of Business apart from other business schools?<\/h4>

The Rankin College of Business is accredited by AACSB, which is highly recognized and a sign of top quality. Classes are small, allowing for in-class discussion and personalized interactions between students and faculty. I\u2019ve also noticed after speaking to the other faculty members here the staff is truly focused on ensuring student success.<\/p>

Do you have any favorite memories from your time at the Rankin College of Business?<\/h4>

I\u2019ve just started here, and COVID has limited my interactions with others.\u00a0 Still, I\u2019ve enjoyed working with students and hearing about their personal stories and experiences. I\u2019ve also enjoyed speaking with and going to lunch with other faculty members.<\/p>

What advice would you offer to a new student beginning their course of study at the Rankin College of Business?<\/h4>

I would suggest that students should try to get their work done shortly after it\u2019s assigned rather than waiting until the last minute. I understand that it\u2019s tempting to wait before getting your work done, but getting it done sooner means that you won\u2019t have to worry if something comes up later. Also, I\u2019m happier to help students who contact me early rather than immediately before a deadline!<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
