Registration for the first summer session is May 23 beginning at 8:00 a.m. in Overstreet Hall.\u00a0 If you take summer classes, you must still come to orientation. Contact the advising center by e-mail at bam@saumag.edu to make special accommodations for orientation.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"listed-post\"><strong>How can I register for classes?<\/strong>\n<div class=\"pcs-excerpt-wrapper\">\n<div class=\"pcs-excerpt\">\n<p style=\"color: #444444;\">Prior to pre-registration or registration, you must be admitted to Southern Arkansas University.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #444444;\">After being admitted to the University, each student must register for courses at the time designated by the University. The student is responsible for the accuracy of the registration schedule, which should correspond with planning a program of study and meeting the requirements of graduation.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"color: #444444;\">Incoming Freshman<\/h3>\n<p style=\"color: #444444;\">Incoming freshman will have the opportunity to be advised and pre-register for classes during summer orientation sessions called <a href=\"https:\/\/web.saumag.edu\/orientation\/bam\">BAM<\/a> (Becoming a Mulerider).<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"color: #444444;\">Incoming Transfer Students<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"color: #444444;\">For fall registration, you will be invited to attend a registration event during the summer months.\u00a0 For spring registration, please contact the Office of Admission at (870) 235-4040 for information regarding registration dates.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>Web Registration<\/h3>\n<p style=\"color: #444444;\">Southern Arkansas University students must meet criteria as determined by their academic in order to web register through Campus Connect. To web register, a student must:<\/p>\n<ol style=\"color: #444444;\">\n<li>Meet all criteria specified in the printed and online schedule,<\/li>\n<li>Clear all holds,<\/li>\n<li>Be approved by your academic advisor (graduate students exempt),<\/li>\n<li>Have a trial schedule prepared, if required, by your academic advisor, and<\/li>\n<li>Arrange payment through the Business Office or E-Cashier, and submit a signed Statement of Account\/Schedule by the published payment deadline to ensure that your class schedule is not canceled.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>See more detailed information about <a href=\"https:\/\/web.saumag.edu\/online\/get-started\/registration\/\">how to register for classes through Campus Connect<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>Registration Deadline and Fees<\/h3>\n<p style=\"color: #444444;\">The\u00a0<strong>last day a student will be allowed to register<\/strong>\u00a0is the\u00a0<strong>Wednesday of the second week of classes<\/strong>\u00a0of a regular semester or the third day of the first week of a summer session.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #444444;\">Students entering late (after the regular registration period) must pay a $50 late registration fee and may be required to take a reduced class load.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"listed-post\"><strong>How do I apply for a transfer scholarship?<\/strong>\n<div class=\"pcs-excerpt-wrapper\">\n<div class=\"pcs-excerpt\">\n<p><span style=\"color: #444444;\">A completed\u00a0<\/span><a style=\"color: #162b45;\" title=\"Transfer Scholarship Application\" href=\"https:\/\/web.saumag.edu\/admissions\/apply\/scholarships\/transfer-app\/\">transfer scholarship application<\/a><span style=\"color: #444444;\">\u00a0must be submitted by the priority deadline of March 15.\u00a0 These scholarships require 48 transferable hours and a 3.0 GPA.\u00a0 The transfer scholarships are limited and awarded on a competitive basis.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"listed-post\"><strong>How do I apply to for admission to SAU?<\/strong>\n<div class=\"pcs-excerpt-wrapper\">\n<div class=\"pcs-excerpt\">\n<p><span style=\"color: #444444;\">Submit the\u00a0<\/span><a style=\"color: #162b45;\" title=\"Applying to SAU\" href=\"https:\/\/web.saumag.edu\/admissions\/apply\/\">application for admission<\/a><span style=\"color: #444444;\">.\u00a0 You need to have official transcripts from each educational institution previously attended sent to the Office of Admissions. Official transcripts are those received by mail directly from the issuing institution.\u00a0 After you have been admitted, you will need to submit proof of immunization to the Office of Admissions.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"listed-post\"><strong>How do I find out if my courses from a community college in will transfer to SAU?<\/strong>\n<div class=\"pcs-excerpt-wrapper\">\n<div class=\"pcs-excerpt\">\n<p><span style=\"color: #444444;\">SAU has articulation\/transfer agreements in place with area community colleges.\u00a0 If your community college is not listed in the articulation guides, we will be glad to offer an initial transcript review to help determine what credits will transfer to SAU.\u00a0\u00a0 Note that only courses completed with a C grade or higher will be accepted for transfer credit.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"listed-post\"><strong>How do I know if I have been admitted?<\/strong>\n<div class=\"pcs-excerpt-wrapper\">\n<div class=\"pcs-excerpt\">\n<p><span style=\"color: #444444;\">You will receive a mailed acknowledgment that will indicate any needed items to complete your admission process.\u00a0 An admission decision will be made once we have enough academic information to determine that you have a 2.0 GPA for admittance.\u00a0 If you are currently enrolled in another institution, your admission file will not be complete until we receive completed official transcripts.\u00a0 Once you have been fully admitted, you will receive an official acceptance letter.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"listed-post\"><strong>Is there a limit to the number of credits that I can transfer to SAU?<\/strong>\n<div class=\"pcs-excerpt-wrapper\">\n<div class=\"pcs-excerpt\">\n<p><span style=\"color: #444444;\">The limits vary on the number of credits.\u00a0 We will apply up to 68 transferable hours from an institutionally accredited two-year institution towards a baccalaureate degree at SAU.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"listed-post\"><strong>What if I took college-level work while in high school?<\/strong>\n<div class=\"pcs-excerpt-wrapper\">\n<div class=\"pcs-excerpt\">\n<p>You <b>must<\/b> send a final official transcript from the college\/university that awarded your credit to the SAU admissions office.
