{"id":371,"date":"2009-12-16T13:43:42","date_gmt":"2009-12-16T19:43:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/web.saumag.edu\/admissions\/?page_id=371"},"modified":"2025-09-25T16:19:35","modified_gmt":"2025-09-25T21:19:35","slug":"transfer-app","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/web.saumag.edu\/admissions\/apply\/scholarships\/transfer-app\/","title":{"rendered":"Community College Transfer Scholarship"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">Open for the Fall 2026 Semester: Deadline &#8211; April 15<\/h3>\n<p><strong>**Please note that Transfer Scholarships are only awarded beginning FALL SEMESTERS.**\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Scholarships are limited and will be awarded on a competitive basis to those students that complete the application process.\u00a0 You will receive an award letter if selected for the award.<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul id=\"gform_fields_2\" class=\"gform_fields top_label form_sublabel_below description_below\">\n<li id=\"field_2_13\" class=\"gfield gfield_html gfield_html_formatted gfield_no_follows_desc field_sublabel_below field_description_below gfield_visibility_visible\"><strong>Eligibility:<\/strong> Recipients will be chosen on the basis of overall academic achievement and campus and community involvement. The scholarship committee will review applications and select recipients. Those selected to receive the scholarship are required to enroll in 15 credit hours at Southern Arkansas University. Students who enroll part-time are not eligible. Students applying for the Community College Transfer Scholarship must meet the following criteria:\n<ul>\n<li>Have an overall <strong>cumulative grade point average of a 3.0 or better<\/strong> on a 4.0 scale for all college work.<\/li>\n<li>Completion of <strong>at least 48 transferrable credits<\/strong>. The majority of these hours should be from a community college and the last attendance must be at a community college.\u00a0 Also, note that preference is given to those students that have most recently attended a community college in Arkansas, Bossier Parrish Community College, Texarkana College, Panola College, Paris Junior College or Northeast Texas Community College. These transfer scholarships are not available for students transferring from a four-year institution.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li id=\"field_2_14\" class=\"gfield gfield_html gfield_html_formatted gfield_no_follows_desc field_sublabel_below field_description_below gfield_visibility_visible\"><strong>Applying:<\/strong> Students who meet the above criteria must submit all required materials by the <strong>April 15<\/strong>\u00a0deadline:\n<ul>\n<li>Complete the Transfer Scholarship application online (see application below).<\/li>\n<li>Complete an <a href=\"https:\/\/web.saumag.edu\/admissions\/apply\/undergraduate-application\/\">application for admission<\/a> to Southern Arkansas University.<\/li>\n<li>A copy of your current course enrollment (if applicable).<\/li>\n<li>To complete your application, you must send up-to-date transcripts from <strong>ALL<\/strong> colleges that you have attended to the SAU Office of Admissions. Please send the most complete transcripts that you have if you are presently enrolled at a community college. If presently enrolled, final transcripts should then be sent as soon as your current semester grades are posted.
