Pre-candidates demonstrate a basic understanding of the teaching profession and student learning. The program emphasizes the uniqueness of each student, recognizing that children are best understood in the context of family, culture, society, and environment. The Associate of Arts in Teaching prepares pre-candidates to work in schools as paraprofessionals or to continue on to obtain their Bachelor\u2019s in Elementary Education.
