This program would serve as a preparatory program for those seeking admittance to a master\u2019s program in Art Therapy as determined by the American Art Therapy Association (AATA) or alternately, a masters in counseling or related fields with an emphasis in art therapy.<\/p>\n<div id=\"learning-goals\" class=\"alert alert-info\">\n<h3>Learning Goals<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Students will be able to communicate orally, visually and in written form to support a visual art or design decision.<\/li>\n<li>Students will understand art in terms of its civic and ethical impact.<\/li>\n<li>Students critically analyze\u00a0visual design problems, synthesize information and create pieces with\u00a0corresponding\u00a0written or oral language to support their outcomes.<em>\u00a0<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Students employ\u00a0traditional art techniques and technological knowledge necessary to work in the\u00a0art and design community.<\/li>\n<li>Students use the tools and technology related to their specific concentration, and will acquire an informed voice as it pertains to art history.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u201cArt Therapy is an integrative mental health and human services profession that enriches the lives of individuals, families, and communities through active art-making, creative process, applied psychological theory, and human experience within a psychotherapeutic relationship.\u201d (American Art Therapy Association, 2010) This 120 credit hour undergraduate program is a collaboration between the Department of Art and&#8230;
