The theatre and musical theatre curriculum offers a rigorous course of study with options in a wide variety of theatre topics pertinent to careers in these degrees, including performance, design, management, or advanced graduate studies.<\/p>\n

Each musical theatre major must audition and be accepted into the program before declaring their\u00a0major. Auditions for the program will be held once during the fall semester and three times\u00a0during the spring semester on designated dates.<\/p>\n

    Admission Requirements:<\/h4>\r\nEach musical theatre major must audition and be accepted into the program before declaring their major. Auditions for the program will be held once during the fall semester and three times during the spring semester on designated dates. The auditions for majoring in musical theatre are as follows:\r\n
      \r\n \t
    1. Students must attend one of the designated audition dates.<\/li>\r\n \t
    2. Students must prepare and perform two sixty-second vocal selections and one monologue.<\/li>\r\n \t
    3. Students must provide one letter of recommendation from either a director, music teacher, or drama teacher from their high school.<\/li>\r\n \t
    4. <\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\nPlease contact the Director of Theatre for more information.\r\n\r\nFor the first two years, all students are admitted into the program on a probationary period. At the end of the student\u2019s second semester and fourth semester, they will undergo a jury audition and\/or interview examination in which the senior faculty will evaluate their status and progress within the program to be permitted to pursue advanced study.\r\n\r\nNote: All theatre majors must earn a C or higher in all major courses.\r\n
