The mission of the program in foreign languages is to develop student proficiency in listening\/comprehension, speaking, reading, and writing in Spanish or French. The program increases student awareness of the range and power of language, develops an understanding of important authors and traditions in Spanish or French literature, and expands student appreciation for other languages and cultures \u2013 knowledge that is vital for success in a global society.<\/p>\n

  1. Our foreign language graduates can communicate effectively.<\/li>\n
  2. Our foreign language graduates understand diversity reflected in literature of their target language.<\/li>\n
  3. Our foreign language graduates can analyze and evaluate competing arguments and interpretations.<\/li>\n
  4. Our graduates can conduct research to access and synthesize information.<\/li>\n
