{"id":664,"date":"2013-11-07T07:45:48","date_gmt":"2013-11-07T13:45:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/web.saumag.edu\/aas\/?p=664"},"modified":"2013-11-07T08:00:40","modified_gmt":"2013-11-07T14:00:40","slug":"dr-duncan-mckinnon-to-talk-about-iconography-landscape-and-pottery-in-southwest-arkansas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/web.saumag.edu\/aas\/2013\/11\/07\/dr-duncan-mckinnon-to-talk-about-iconography-landscape-and-pottery-in-southwest-arkansas\/","title":{"rendered":"Dr. Duncan McKinnon to talk about iconography, landscape and pottery in Southwest Arkansas"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><em>When:\u00a0 November 12, 2013, 7pm<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Where: The Magnolia Room, second floor of the Reynolds Center on the SAU Campus, Magnolia, AR<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The program for the November meeting of the Kadohadacho Chapter of the Arkansas Archeological Society will feature Dr. Duncan McKinnon.\u00a0 Duncan is no stranger to us in southwest Arkansas; he began working with the Kadohadacho Chapter back in 2007 when he was conducting a remote sensing survey for his MA thesis on Battle Mound in Lafayette County.\u00a0 Duncan has continued to work with us through his Ph.D. dissertation\u2014synthesizing historical excavations and new high-tech remote sensing data at the Battle Mound site.\u00a0 Moreover, in 2010 Duncan taught an Honors College seminar at Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia entitled \u201cMyths, Symbolism and Moundbuilders\u201d (ANTH 4133).
