Site Development
How to get a new site published or have an existing site significantly reworked
- Prepare a site content packet
- Required contents:
- Site outline
- Content for each page indicated in the outline
- Any applicable images (graphics, photos, logos, etc.) available to you
- For each form needed show complete form details and indicate if it is to be a download (print and mail/return) or online submit
- Required contents:
- Submit the packet via the New Site Request form. All content submitted must be in digital format (on the computer, not printed). The packet will be reviewed and you will be contacted with any questions or if there is missing content. Please note that it will be necessary for the dean of your school or college or director of your department to review and approve the content before it is published.
Faculty/Staff (non-departmental) sites
Non-departmental sites (i.e. “personal” sites) for faculty or staff can be setup very quickly. The requester is given access to a directory on the on-campus Web server where documents and files can be stored and made Web accessible. Sites can be built with tools like Dreamweaver, FrontPage or other Web editor. Contact ITS at extension 4083 to determine what web editing desktop software may be available from the University. It is highly recommended that course-specific documents and information be maintained within BlackBoard. Please contact this office to request a non-departmental Web site.
Training & site management
Department content managers will receive training in accessing, maintaining, and creating content within the WPMU environment. At this time the training materials are undergoing a significant overhaul and no date has been established for the next training session.
