Carla Williamson came to Southern Arkansas University as secretary for the Upward Bound Department on August 17, 2001. In July of 2005, she was promoted to the position of Student Relations Analyst. I n November of 2010, after serving as Student Relations Analyst for 5 years, she was promoted to the position of Tutor Coordinator. Carla was previously employed at Cox Cable for 9 1/2 years before deciding to attend college full time.
Ms. Williamson has earned an Associates Degree in Business Management, and a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Computer Information Systems at Southern Arkansas University. She is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Public Administration.
She enrolled at SAU in August of 1998, and began working for the department as a clerical assistant and driver on the work-study program; so she is well acquainted with Upward Bound. Carla is a great asset to the program. She also has a wonderful rapport with the students, who affectionately refer to her as “Ms. Carla.”
Carla lives in Magnolia with her son, Brian.
