SAU is an excellent choice for students who are searching to pursue their interests in chemistry, physics, biochemistry, engineering, or the health professions. In addition to our Bachelor of Science degrees, we also offer an associate of Science degree in Chemistry that produces industry-ready graduates. Our students are in high demand in local supply companies and chemical industries in addition to professional and graduate programs across the nation.

Mechanical Engineering option in the Engineering Physics program at SAU

Southern Arkansas University (SAU )at Magnolia has a four year engineering physics program with a mechanical engineering option. Students will learn the concepts of engineering and apply these concepts to design engineering components and systems. Students will undergo a robust engineering curriculum at the same time as learning the science behind the concepts.

The goal of our engineering options is to prepare students for careers in the field of  engineering that will serve the industries in southern Arkansas as well as the nation.  Many of our graduates choose to pursue a Ph.D. in advanced engineering or advanced physics.

We have small class sizes and we focus on faculty/student interaction.  All of our engineering students will participate in either an internship or significant research project.  Our laboratories are equipped with the state of the art instruments with modern data acquisition systems.  The faculty are highly qualified and have many years of experience in teaching and mentoring students with experience in industry and higher education. If you would like to know more about the engineering options at SAU please contact by calling 870-235-4290.
