EL DORADO, Ark. – For the second-straight year and third out of the last four, the Southern Arkansas football team will play in the Murphy USA Classic Game at Memorial Stadium in El Dorado as it was announced at a press conference at the El Dorado Golf and Country Club on Tuesday.
 
This year, the Muleriders will take on defending Great American Conference champion Ouachita Baptist on Saturday, October 17 with a kickoff scheduled for 2 p.m. As it was last year, SAU will serve as the home team in the contest.
 
"We are honored to receive an invitation to come back and play in this game," remarked SAU Head Football Coach, Bill Keopple. "We are also very excited about getting to play the defending GAC Champions in Ouachita Baptist. We have a lot of respect for them and their program. We have had a lot of really good battles over the years and expect to have another one in this game."
 
The Murphy USA Classic will be in its seventh year, and SAU is the team that has played in it the most as 2015 will be the Muleriders' fifth appearance in the game. The Muleriders played in the inaugural game in 2009 and previously made appearances in 2010, 2012 and 2014.
