MAGNOLIA — Southern Arkansas University will be closed on Tuesday, January 11, due to winter weather conditions in south Arkansas. Registration for the spring 2011 semester will begin on Wednesday, and classes will begin on Thursday, January 13. Registration will also continue on Thursday.
BAM II new student orientation will take place Wednesday.
Updates will be posted to the University’s website (www.saumag.edu) as they become available.

I am grateful for Dr. Rankin and all others for the decision to close the campus during the winter storm. I commute from Eldorado to Magnolia everyday. I do not like to miss class, so thank you to all who had a part in this decision.
I want to say that I think its pretty awesome that SAU is so concerned about student safety. They could easily have said classes must start on time but chose to guarantee that students would arrive safely. Thanks to all of you decision makers!
Mary, registration will continue Thursday. Thank you, the post has been corrected.
Will registration continue on Thursday? I think there is a misprint, it says Wednesday twice
Thank you for considering the safety of our children and their concern for arriving to school on time. The road conditions were of major concern for my daughter leaving tomorrow. Again, thank you so much.
