			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Director of Admissions, Field Experiences and Licensure, full-time 12 month administrative position, opening July 2010.  Duties: leading the Department of admissions, Field Experiences and Licensure within the College of Education.  Successful candidate will assume the responsibility for admission to teacher education programs, field experiences and clinical practice and for initial licensure and added licenses.  Candidate will coordinate Title II reports, teach undergraduate classes as assigned (Introduction to Education) and participate in the College and University committees as assigned.</p>
<p>Qualifications: A minimum of a Master’s degree in education or related fields. Experience in P-12 schools; demonstrated excellent communication skills and be detail oriented required; teaching or administrative experience in higher education; familiarity with schools in University’s service area; basic understanding of NCATE and ADE standards and regulations; and technologically apt. preferred.</p>

Professional newspaper or strong practical media experience and/or management a plus as is experience in teaching at the college level.  Must have strong interpersonal skill, strong computer skills, as well as strong collaborative skills.</p>
<p>Assistant professor and tenure track, requires a terminal degree or have completed 12 hours above the masters’ degree in their field.  SAU may hire a candidate as an instructor or assistant professor non-tenure track, and move them to tenure track upon timely completion of the required 12 hours above the master’s degree.</p>

Duties: teaching all digital video and media production courses; academic advising; working with students, the university and area agencies to help produce promotional video and digital content; serving on university committees; recruitment and retention of students for the digital video and media production program.</p>
<p>Minimum qualifications: MA, MS or MFA in Digital Video or Media Production, Mass Media, Mass Communication, Digital Journalism, Film Making or related discipline. Doctorate in related field preferred. Professional production and strong practical media experience and management is a plus, as is experience teaching at the college level. The SAU Digital Video and Media Production program uses Macintosh computers with Final Cut Pro. Knowledge of Mac computers and software is required.</p>
<p>For rank of assistant professor and tenure track, candidates must hold a terminal degree or have completed 12 hours above the master’s degree in their field. Rank as an instructor or assistant professor non-tenure track, if above qualifications are not met. Status eligible for change upon completion of minimum qualifications.</p>

<p>Southern Arkansas University, Magnolia, a four-year state university, is located in southwestern Arkansas. Magnolia has a population of approximately 12,000 and is within commuting distance of two large metropolitan areas. Southern Arkansas University is primarily a teaching institution with an enrollment of approximately 3,200 students. The University offers Associate and Bachelor’s degrees in 43 majors, and Master’s degrees in 11 majors. A technical branch campus is in nearby Camden.</p>
