District Administrator
Educational Leadership District Administrator Licensure Program
Each candidate for the Educational Leadership Superintendent Licensure Program will be required to complete 24 semester hours selected from the courses listed below.
- EDAS 6113 School Finance
- EDAS 6123 The Superintendency
- EDAS 6133 Governance Groups
- EDAS 6143 Management of Human Resources
- EDAS 6153 Practicum in Educational Facilities
- EDAS 6163 Superintendency Internship
- EDAS 6173 Administration & Assessment of Curricular Programs
- EDAS 6183 Ed Seminar 24 Hrs.
Admission to Program of study – all candidates must meet the following:
- Documentation must be provided that shows that the candidate possesses a current building level or curriculum administrator’s license.
- Provide Graduate Studies with official transcripts* from a regionally accredited college or university
- Complete all entrance requirements for non-degree seeking students including an entrance interview
- Provide a current professional resume
- Documentation of four (4) years of teaching experience in a P-12 school setting
Internship Requirement – Each candidate will be required to do an internship consisting of 125 hours plus 105 hours of practical experience.
Portfolio Requirement – During the program of study each candidate will prepare a portfolio. The portfolio will complete the requirements for the licensure program. The portfolio is to prove that the candidate has the knowledge, skills and disposition needed to be an effective district administrator. The portfolio is also used to show that the candidate has an understanding and can apply the ISLLC/ELLC and Arkansas Standards for Administrators. To ensure program quality and integrity, the portfolio will be assessed by the program faculty and at notification to the Arkansas Department of Education with regard to successful completion of the program of study, portfolio and internship.
